50 Powerful Prayers Against Witchcraft

The Scriptures make it clear that witchcraft is a work of darkness that is opposed to the will of God. It also shows us that God’s people have had to face discouraging odds and attacks from enemies, not just physical ones, and that God calls us to prayer, faith, and reliance on Him.

When a friend tells you that she has been under oppression, nightmares, strange fears, repeated setbacks, and circumstances that just seem to work against everything she does, it can be heartbreaking to hear. You don’t want to think that her friend is practicing witchcraft, but it could be helpful to remind her that she can bring these things to God in prayer. That she can ask Him to deliver her from harassment, open doors, give her wisdom and victory.

These are 50 powerful prayers against witchcraft that will help you defeat oppression, break curses, stop attacks on your family and future, and help you find the peace that comes from trusting God to protect you.

The answer to witchcraft is not doubt but faith. The psalmist said,

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

We do not pray in desperation but in the confidence that God has promised to be our Helper and deliver us from all who oppose us. Before we pray these scriptures, let us briefly review what the Bible says about witchcraft.

The Bible’s Teaching on Witchcraft and Divination

The Bible consistently condemns witchcraft, divination, sorcery, and every attempt to seek supernatural power apart from God. These practices are presented and seen or considered as contrary to total dependence on the Lord. Deuteronomy 18:10 says:

“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.” Deuteronomy 18:10

The Bible does not urge believers to become obsessed with darkness or look for witches behind every situation. Instead, we are exhorted to turn to God and oppose evil, walking in truth and being firmly planted in faith. James 4:7 is explicit on this issue, it says:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

When Spiritual Opposition Affects Daily Life

The Bible clearly shows that occult practices are a direct attack against God. That being said, we are spiritually cautioned not to think that everything that goes wrong in our life is a result of witchcraft. Prayer should draw us close to God, not make us paranoid about those around us.

In a situation where something is intensely troubling your spirit, pray about the matter and ask for revelation, deliverance, protection, and wisdom. God can unveil the truth and handle any situation.

Why You Should Not Live in Fear of Witchcraft

The wrong kind of fear holds people back more than it empowers them. A Christian that is constantly on edge about being attacked spiritually will only find themselves more anxious and in need of prayer. God wants us to have boldness and not to live in fear. This is a great verse to keep in mind when dealing with spiritual oppression:

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

So stay focused on God and do not let the fear of something unseen stop you from living the life He has planned for you. Pray, stand on the Word of God, and walk in obedience.

30 Powerful Prayers on the Foundation of Your House

Walking in Victory After Prayer

Prayer should not leave you living in fear of the very powers you have prayed against. Your confidence must remain in God. Scripture directs believers toward faith, obedience, wisdom, and a settled trust in the Lord, not constant suspicion of people.

Do not spend your life trying to find who is responsible for every difficulty. Not every setback is witchcraft, and not every troubling dream is evidence of a spiritual attack. Some situations require prayer, while others may require medical attention, wise counsel, financial planning, reconciliation, professional help, or a change of strategy. Your spiritual life should grow stronger through prayer, not more fearful. 2 Timothy 1:7 says:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Continue to pray, study the Word, walk in obedience, forgive others, and reject occult practices. When fear rises, return to Scripture. When confusion comes, ask God for wisdom. When opposition appears, remember that your security is in the faithfulness of the God you serve.
